Sorry for my brief hiatus from posting recipes and other useful info. I just needed to unplug, spend time with the little one and enjoy life for a few days. Now that I’ve rested a bit, I’m ready to post some delicious new recipes! This recipe is for an avocado sauce. I like to use this sauce as a topping for our family taco night. It replaces sour cream in a tasty way and provides a good dose of healthy fats thanks to the avocado. Try it next time you make tacos or some other Mexican-themed meal! This recipe serves about 4.
INGREDIENTS
1 ripe peeled avocado
2 tbsp. soy-free chicken broth
3 tbsp. fresh lime juice
2 tsp. canola oil
1/4 tsp. ground cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp. salt
1 garlic clove
DIRECTIONS
Combine all of the ingredients in a food processor and process until perfectly smooth.
Use the sauce to top your favorite Mexican-themed meal.
